Consonus Pharmacy is offering medication-related education to Medication Aides and Caregivers. Any facility staff are welcome to attend. Classes are FREE to all Consonus clients and a small fee for non-Consonus clients. Consonus Pharmacy is committed to ongoing educational programs that support staff care for residents and provide the best possible patient outcomes and efficiencies.
Naloxone and Responding to Opioid Overdose: Lifesaving Information

FreeConsultant Pharmacist Keilana Fisher teaches this class. Naloxone (Narcan®) is a safe medication that can save someone’s life by reversing the effects of an overdose that is related to opioids, such as prescription painkillers and fentanyl. Learn from a pharmacist valuable information on how to recognize and respond to a potential overdose. The instructions for administering naloxone nasal spray will be reviewed. There will be discussion on identifying those at greatest risk for overdose and steps we can take in facilities to take to prevent negative outcomes. Opioid emergencies can happen anytime and anywhere and this class may help you save a life.
This 1.0-credit continuing education class is FREE to all Consonus clients. Anyone is welcome to join the class – Nurses, Administrators, Caregivers, Med Aides, etc. Oregon CMAs, Minnesota RNs and LPNs, and Nebraska and lowa Medication Aides/Medication Managers are eligible to earn CE credit for this course.
