Consonus Pharmacy is offering medication-related education to Medication Aides and Caregivers. Any facility staff are welcome to attend. Classes are FREE to all Consonus clients and a small fee for non-Consonus clients. Consonus Pharmacy is committed to ongoing educational programs that support staff care for residents and provide the best possible patient outcomes and efficiencies.

Deprescribing Guidelines: Reducing Medications Safely to Meet Life’s Changes

FreeConsultant Pharmacist Carey Bernt teaches this class. Join this class to understand the scope and impact of medication overload in older adults. Understand the drivers of polypharmacy, including the prescribing cascade, and the risks. In this class, a pharmacist will review how deprescribing guidelines can assist with medication reduction to safely meet life’s changes. Learn about interventions you can take as a non-prescriber to address the problem and reduce the potential for harm.
This 1.0-credit continuing education class is FREE to all Consonus clients. Anyone is welcome to join the class – Nurses, Administrators, Caregivers, Med Aides, etc. Only Oregon CMAs are eligible to earn CE credit for the course.
